After his visit from the jolly red guy, Jamie realized this was a man to know! He now points to Santa decorations and says “Santa”! When you ask him what does Santa say he replies with a cute litte “ho ho”!
We are proud of this new addition to Jamie’s budding vocabulary!

The kids struck it rich! Santa did a great job and we all loved what we got. Taylor and Jamie were such wonderful children this year. Taylor has been doing great job in Preschool, helping around the house, and helping with Jamie. Then, Jamie has been such a sweet baby boy and has being growing so big!
We hope that you got everything that you wanted and Santa was good to you.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

The kids had a great time unwrapping their presents and tracking Santa on TV. As you can see from the pictures the kids went crazy tearing to the presents and making a mess. Oh! to be a child again… We love our children so much and we are so blessed to have such sweethearts as these two.
We have said it before, but we wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Don’t take it for granted, tell your family and friends how much you love them and are blessed to have them in your life.

We were out town and did not have time to blog, so Happy belated Festivus. It is the holiday for the rest of us. Luckily, the head of the household was not pinned to the floor and was able to hold on to his title for one more year.

We just came back from our annual tradition of getting together with our cousins the Brown Family in Eastern NC.
We enjoyed a holiday brunch with a menu of ham biscuits, hash brown casserole, cheese grits, Quiche Florentine, stuffed French toast, fresh baked bread.
Of course, we had a yummy dessert table with Mary Lou’s annual Red Velvet Cake, Fudge, Pecan Tartlets made with brown sugar Splenda, and Chocolate Layer Cake. We enjoyed milk, Earl Grey tea, and December Cider.
Best of all, we got to visit and have some family fellowship. One of the best parts of the season!

We Are Times Persons of the Year

Time Magazines next Person of the Year Issue, due out December 25, refers to the many wresting power from the few and helping one another for nothing and how that will not only change the world, but also change the way the world changes.”
The article states that all who submit data on YouTube or MySpace or just blog are indulging in techno-advances that alter our world as we know it. We agree. We no longer have to turn on the stereo or TV, fight the post office, pick up a newspaper, shop at crowded malls, or even go to the bank. We make stupid human videos and seek out others online internationally for companionship.

Just in time for Christmas… The holiday pictures are up on the web!
For those that are interested, the pictures were scanned in and they seem kind of washed out. I have tried to correct the colors with poor results. So, they do look better than they appear.

Do you know what your is?

The Ashton coat of arms came into existence centuries ago. The process of creating coats of arms (also often called family crests) began in the eight and ninth centuries. The new art of Heraldry made it possible for families and even individual family members to have their very own coat of arms.
The name Ashton is part of the ancient legacy of the Anglo Saxon tribes of Britain. It is a product of when the family lived in the village of Ashton, Lancashire. The first part of the name, Ash, was originally given to a person who resided in an area where ash trees prospered. There are eighteen parishes and townships called Ashton in numerous counties and there are also various minor localities of this same name.Spelling variations of this family name include: Ashton, Asshton, Asheton, Ashtown, Assheton, Ascheton and many more.
First found in Lancashire, where they were seated from ancient times.
Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Alice Ashton, who sailed to Virginia in 1635. John Ashton arrived in Virginia in 1720; James Ashton sailed to Philadelphia in 1816; and Evan Ashton journeyed to San Francisco in 1852.
Motto Translated: Someone not weakening.

We had to put up a smaller tree this year so that Jamie would not be tempted to pull it over. Not much space to put presents though…

Our neighborhood had the annual Christmas Party last night and we had a great time. Jamie was sick and he was unable to go, so he stayed home and slept though the party.
